A travel day
Our flight to Australia wasn’t until 9pm so we had arranged with
the hotel a later check-out of 2.00pm although this cost us an extra £30 for
the privilege. So until we had to check
out we just relaxed in our room blogging and watching TV.
As we knew we had a long flight in front of us with airline
food we headed to a nearby Indian restaurant to get some decent food inside of
us for our travels. We both tucked into
some nice claypot mutton things and shared a very large chicken Tikka and samosas.
After eating, instead of hanging round we decided to pick up
our bags from the hotel and catch a taxi back to the airport early.
Arriving at the airport super early we had enough money just
to buy a couple of beers to toast Asia off with, then we wandered round doing
some window shopping in the airport shops whilst looking out for a travel guide
to Australia. Also knowing that booze
was going to be more expensive in Oz we picked up a bottle of Gin & Vodka
for our apartment in Cairns.
We then settled down in some chairs and read for a while
until our gate opened. At 8.30 we
headed to our gate and were then boarding our flight for a 6 hour flight to
Brisbane (to get our connection to Cairns).
Soon we were seated and plugged into our in-flight movies (Leonardo DiCaprio
Oscar One & The Eddie the Eagle Movie) and hoping to get some sleep during
the night.
